Kinja'd!!!

Yesterday, was driving home from Buffalo (had to attend a wedding). Noted the Honda Odyssey in the left lane doing 70-75mph on I-390. It had a flat rear tire to the point the car was leaning. Stopped at a rest stop to pee. Few minutes later saw a cloud of tire smoke and everyone slammed their brakes. Sure enough....

Thankfully my parent’s WK2 has good brakes. And it’s comfy.

You sure? The people of SC must have not gotten the memo.

Also a good idea not to tow trailers with dry-rotted tires, because then you might actually get to see the tread come completely off the sidewalls in a spray of shreds. Like I did, once.

haha! sounds like 390. Any time I take 390/86 I always see the most sketched out cars going the fastest! Then again it does run through the ol’ ny Meth belt. So it makes sense I guess..

But then you have to drive through Binghamton, gross! I’ll take 390/86 over ever having to drive 88 ever again tho! and honestly it is an easy nice drive. I’m just saying, with out fail I see cars like you speak of on it! In fact! last time (3 weeks back) I was going from horseheads to Rochester I saw a mid 90's caravan: Wheels wobbling like they will fall off, side door held open with bungee cables, thick black smoke pouring from exhaust and no rear window in the rear hatch. Also he was doing about 90MPH.... that’ s 390 in a nut shell! time before that there was ford box truck who’s right front fender was flapping like a birds wing. there only seemed to be bolts on the top so it would swing up and down.. I tend to take 96 or another back road rather than deal with 390 if i can help it!

I see it all the time around here.

Thing I don’t understand: It’s usually on the driver’s side. How do you not notice it when walking up to your vehicle?

Yeah, I’ve seen people like that before. I-87 (Northway, not Thruway) in North Colonie. Silver Mk4 Golf GTI, flat left rear.

How the heck they made it all the way to Clifton Park is beyond me, because after getting off exit 9...there they were.

Same if you’re headed east from Oneonta. Take NY 23 instead of I-88, it’s gorgeous.

Yep! I am quite familiar with 86 from Bear Mountain/Woodbury Common to Binghampton cause my parents have a place in Roscoe. We stayed there Friday night actually.

It gets quite windy and hilly in the 80s exists

How far are you from Springville?  Can always do a mini meet or something.
